Microalgae Production in Wastewater

One of the indicators that shows how much we give particular importance to R&D studies is that we willingly contribute in academic studies of universities. Our company has always been and will continue to be open to support requests from related faculties of our universities. We are proud to be able to contribute to the development of scientific methods and conducting researches, and to share our knowledge, with the awareness that our industry will progress in this way in national and global terms and reach the levels that can meet the increasing nutritional needs of the world population.

Below, you can find the post graduate project  which we contributed with our facilities’ resources that our company has:

In this project, it was aimed to culture of microalgae in wastewater samples, which was come from wastewater treatment center and aquaculture hatchery farm, and tested to chemically treatment as used to algae. It was used to as algae; Spirulina platensis, Nannochloropsis oculata in, Tetraselmis suecica T. chuii, Porphrydium cruentum.

The algae were cultred at Ege University Faculty of Fisheries in Urla plankton culture laboratory and the analysis were carried out at Izmir Provincial Directorate of Control laboratories. Plankton culture in the laboratory Çiğli Advanced Biological Wastewater Treatment Plant (raw wastewater), Fisheries Kuluçkane (production end wastewater), Çiğli Advanced Biological Waste water Treatment Plant (primary sedimentation end) wastewater in the five species of algae culture were made. Thus, the arrival of wastewater has been found that the algal species. As a result of the wastewater Spirulina platensis is also an increase in the number of cells was observed. 0.536 mg.l-1 of ammonia nitrogen value of 0.0 mg.l-1, phosphate phosphorus 1.89mg.l 0.462 mg.l-1, and total phosphorus 82.9mg.l-1  0.511mg.l-1 has been found to fall into. BOD and COD values of 110 mg.l-1, respectively, from 2.8 mg.l-1 and
332 mg.l-1 was reduced to 120 mg.l-1. Spirulina platensis biomass raw wastewater is obtained by making culture and also improved in chemically.
